One of the Twelve Disciples of Jesus Christ

Lebbaeus whose surname was Thaddaeus was one of the twelve disciples. (Matthew 10:3). He is referred to as Thaddaeus in Mark 3:18. Luke 6:16 refers to him as Judas the brother of James as does Acts 1:13. He is referred to as Judas, not Iscariot in John 14:22. They are all believed to be the same person.

It is believed Lebbaeus the surname of Thaddaeus is Judas the brother of James, the the author of the General Epistle of Jude.
