Mount Gaash

One of the mountains of spiritual realm mentioned in the Bible

Mount Gaash was the name of a hill in ancient Israel. It is in the mountainous region of Ephraim.

         Ephraim mountain region
Ephraim Mountain region located northwest of Ephraim, northeast of Bethel and southwest of Nabulus.

Joshua, the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD died and was buried in the border of his inheritance in Timnath-heres, in the mount of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill Gaash.

“And the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the LORD, that he did for Israel. And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, [being] an hundred and ten years old. And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnathheres, in the mount of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill Gaash.” (Judges 2:7-9 AV)

Mountain Gaash is believed by the Samarians to be at Kefr Charis, which is nine miles south of Nabulus. There are two burial shrines outside the village. One is believed to be for Joshua, and the other Caleb.
