History

The Central Baptist Association was formed in 1956 when some churches of the Eastern District Primitive Baptist Association separated. The Central Baptist Association wanted to be more progressive. They wanted to make available homes for homeless and destitute children.

The Central Baptist adopted the name to indicate their acceptance of the Bible as a whole. They wanted to make it known they did not vary to the right or to the left. The Bible was their central importance.

Their headquarters are in Jasper, Virginia and there includes a Tabernacle, a home for children and a Bible youth camp.

Belief

The Central Baptist Association has five core values; A missionary community, a prophetic community, an inclusive community, a worship community and a sacrificial community.

The Central Baptist Association believes their most urgent needs are: To make the Gospel accessible to the non-church goers, to develop more communities and social action projects and to learn to connect with other cultures.

The Central Baptist Association believes it is their responsibility to respond to the challenges of new housing developments and increase the availability of their missions.
