Philippians 1:6

"Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." (Philippians 1:6 KJV)

God's Plan - His Child's Choice

His choice was perfectly planned out. She was new to His garden. Splendidly adorned in purple velvet. Graced with white spikes of blooms as delicate and vibrant as glitter in the sun. She was thriving in the cool shade of the day. Engulfed by fragrant blossoms that only the forest floor can yield. A manifestation of colors and scents causing awareness in every sensation.

Life was everywhere to be found in this sanctuary. Roots dug deep into the earth's soil with plenty of opportunity for development as she absorbed the perfect nutrients offered. The Gardener attentive and showing unyielding love to all that were His.

She was losing her beauty, losing her ground. She stopped listening to His Voice, stopped breathing His Breath, stopped trusting the Son for what she needed. Why was she making this choice? Day after day wasting away.

Try as He might, there was no growth to be found. The season not right. She was just too fragile to endure the night. He knew what He was doing, knew what it would take. He cut her back to her roots and waited for change.

The seasons transitioned from one to the next. The Gardner continued to care for the plants that were His, watering, feeding, and cutting where needed.

The Son came up high on that warm sunny day. Her purple leaves were so small, so tender, and new. She was still in the garden. She was there all along. Her roots were down deep just not very strong. She now hears His Voice and sees His Son up above. She listens and follows with a new kind of love.

He knew all along she was His for all time. Nothing could take her from the home where she belonged. Seasons have come and seasons have gone. She is now blooming bright and has a new song.
