Petal Ponderings

Psalm 1:1-3

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.(Psalm 1:1-3)

Cedars by the River

They are long-time friends these two. So many things in common, yet so very different. Both so tall and strong. Statures of great. One is seen from miles away for his beauty. Power is his name. The other is known by many. He carries the name of Integrity.

One reaches high to the heavens with limbs that never lose their luster, and the other sits protected from the summer heat by the wide fanning branches so full of never-ending aroma.

Both growing older. Equally lived through many storms of life. Their paths full of obstacles that they learned to overcome. When the winds blow hard they only become stronger. Roots reaching far down into the deep moist soil where the nutrients sustain and encourage growth.

Dependent on the Son's radiating warmth, a delight in which he meditates day and night. The Righteous consider him to be a prosperous man. Not so the ungodly. He is rich in faith. Prayer is his Endurance. Courage is the result of Love and Commitment. Hard work keeps him flourishing and thriving to be like his friend who's footstool is the rivers of Living Water.
